The Supreme Court has struck down a key provision of the Defense of Marriage Act forbidding federal recognition of gay marriages for couples residing in states that recognize their union.

The court’s decision came by a ruling of 5-4.

  1. Great news. GIven how Americans feel about the topic, I am surprised it was only 5 to 4. The Voters Act was disappointing, especially given the racial bias being shown in our state right now.
